The Nature of Nature

A New Understanding

A documentary Trilogy

presented by The Shape of History, LLC

Format & Style

The Nature of Nature will showcase a breathtaking kaleidoscope of ideas and images, drawn from a multitude of locations and disciplines to explain new perspectives on topics ranging from genomics to economics, and from cosmic history to the future of our fragile environment.

We will visit some of the natural world’s most awesome settings, including the planet’s densest rainforests, its most inaccessible deserts, its diminishing glaciers, and its oceanic depths.

JungleAt each, we will witness the profoundly – and often unexpected – relationships that exist within every aspect of the biosphere that we inhabit, and will see the evidence of earlier eras when momentous changes shaped entire continents. Some of the agents of these changes were organisms, and so we will see how life shaped the earth just as much as the earth shaped life.

We will examine many profoundly important examples of this reciprocity, and consider what happens when those relationships are unwoven.

Every technique of contemporary film making, from ultra-high-speed imaging and time-lapse photography to 3D computer generated graphics and animation, will be used to illustrate this epic tale of endless change and adaptation, past, present, and future.
